FRESH AI NEWS

ChatGPT for doctors hits $6B mark 🩻

OpenEvidence has secured $200 million in a funding round at a $6 billion valuation, positioning it as a vertical-AI leader in healthcare tailored for doctors and nurses 🚀

  • The platform now supports around 15 million clinical consultations per month, up sharply from ~8.5 million just months ago 👨‍⚕️

  • Trained on peer-reviewed journals like Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), the tool offers evidence-based answers tailored for frontline care 📚

  • Verified doctors and nurses can use the service for free; monetization comes via advertising rather than per-seat licensing

  • Just three months after a $3.5 billion valuation round, it raised again to $6 billion, highlighting investor interest in industry-specific AI 📈

Why You Should Care: OpenEvidence's raise signifies a shift in the AI race towards specialized tools in regulated industries like healthcare. With deep domain data, high physician adoption, and rapid scaling, it shows how vertical AI companies can advance and create new market dynamics.

Anthropic brings coding online 🧠

Anthropic has launched Claude Code on the web, allowing developers to create coding agents in a browser without needing a terminal 🤖

  • Developers can connect GitHub repositories and start coding tasks directly in the browser without CLI setup 🌐

  • Claude Code on the web allows running multiple jobs simultaneously, ideal for bug backlogs, routine updates, or large codebases 🔄

  • Each session runs in an isolated cloud sandbox with filesystem and network restrictions to protect credentials and repos 🛡️

  • The web version works on desktop browsers and the Claude iOS app in preview, allowing coding on the go 📲

Why You Should Care: This move takes Claude Code from specialized developer terminals to a broad web-accessible interface, lowering the barrier for coding agents. With browser sessions, parallel job support, and robust security, Anthropic is positioning itself strongly in the race for AI coding platforms.

Opera’s Neon highlights AI chaos

Opera Neon debuts as a subscription-based AI browser with three agents (Chat, Do, Make), but its messy workflow and high cost underscore the challenges of perfecting AI browsers

  • Users switch between Chat for Q&A, Do for browser automation, and Make for custom tools, but choosing which to use can feel like memorizing tool categories 📅

  • "Tasks" are mini workspaces and "Cards" are reusable prompt templates, but together they add complexity 📋

  • At ~$20/month, Neon requires a premium commitment, but reviewers found it slower and less reliable than manual browsing for many tasks 💵

  • The “Do” agent once added a funeral wreath when asked to find floral arrangements; it declared “no tickets” when plenty existed. Trust falters when autonomy makes obvious mistakes 🛠️

  • Opera describes Neon as "early access" and invites users to help shape it, but warns that it may contain bugs and require adaptation 👥

Why You Should Care: Neon exposes the reality: turning a browser into an AI-agent platform is harder than it looks. Seamless delegation, intuitive workflows and reliability lag the promise. Until those pieces lock in, many users may stick with free browsers or wait.

Scale AI vet bags $9M for MENA AI 🚀

A former Scale AI executive has launched 1001 AI, a startup that raised $9 million in seed funding to develop AI infrastructure for mission-critical industries in the MENA region 🔀

  • Bilal Abu-Ghazaleh, who worked at Scale AI, is now splitting time between London and Dubai as he builds 1001 AI 👤

  • 1001 AI is creating an “AI-native operating system” for sectors like aviation, logistics, construction and oil & gas in the Gulf region 🏗️

  • The seed round was led by General Catalyst, Lux Capital and CIV, with participation from angel investors and regional backers 💼

  • The founder estimates over $10 billion in inefficiencies in Gulf infrastructure, and 1001 AI aims to capture a significant portion 📉

  • The startup plans its first product rollout by the end of the year, targeting Gulf mega-projects and building out teams in Dubai and London 🌍

Why You Should Care: The move highlights AI's shift from software to high-stakes, under-digitized industries. With MENA's infrastructure investments, 1001 AI aims to be the orchestration layer for physical systems. Talent from Scale AI indicates the evolution toward full-stack industrial AI.

ZAPIER’S SMART WORKFLOW BUILDER

Automate workflows with Zapier’s AI Copilot

Learn how to use Zapier's AI Copilot to create automated workflows from simple text ideas. There's no need for coding or complicated setup. Just describe what you want using natural language, and Zapier Copilot will create it for you

Here’s how to get started 👇️

  1. Sign up to Zapier.com and click the “Copilot (AI beta)” search bar. You’ll see the prompt field asking, “What would you like to automate?”

  2. Describe your idea. Type a natural language request like: “Send a Slack message whenever someone fills out my Typeform survey” or “Add new Gmail attachments to Google Drive and notify me in Discord.”

  3. Zapier Copilot will automatically identify the apps, map triggers and actions, and generate a working automation draft for your review. Then click continue.

  4. Click on the Typeform step, choose “Connect Account,” and sign in.

Select your desired form and test the trigger.

  5. In the Slack action step, connect your Slack workspace. Choose the target channel (e.g., #new-leads or #notifications) and customize the message body with dynamic fields.

  6. Click “Test Action” to send a sample message to your chosen Slack channel. Confirm that it appears correctly formatted with all the right data.

  7. Click “Publish” in the top-right corner to activate your workflow. From now on, whenever someone fills out a new Typeform, your team will automatically receive a notification in Slack without any extra work on your end.

Pro Tip: Start simple, then scale up. Use Zapier’s Copilot’s AI suggestions to add follow-ups like “Add to CRM,” “Send thank-you email,” or “Tag contact in HubSpot.”
