This marks OpenAI’s first collaboration with a toymaker, expanding its reach beyond enterprise and media. The companies plan to launch their first AI-powered product later in 2025, aiming to enhance fan engagement through interactive, age-appropriate experiences.

Mattel will use OpenAI’s tools, including ChatGPT Enterprise, to boost product development and creative ideation.
The partnership will span physical toys and digital experiences, potentially including AI-powered dolls, games, and storytelling tools.
Brands like Barbie, Hot Wheels, and UNO are expected to benefit from this integration.
Both companies emphasize privacy, safety, and responsible AI use, especially for children.
Mattel retains full control of its IP and product direction.

Microsoft’s new Copilot Vision can ‘see’ your apps 👀

Microsoft has launched Copilot Vision for Windows, a powerful new feature that lets the AI assistant visually interpret your screen to offer real-time help. Here’s what it can do:

Screen Awareness: You can share one or two apps with Copilot, which then “sees” what you’re working on and offers contextual guidance.
Highlights Feature: Ask “show me how,” and Copilot will highlight exactly where to click inside the app—perfect for navigating complex tools.
Versatile Use Cases: From giving gaming tips to improving photo lighting or reviewing your travel itinerary, Copilot acts like a second set of eyes.
Privacy First: It’s fully opt-in—Copilot only sees what you choose to share, unlike Recall which captures everything in the background.
Voice Support: You can ask questions verbally, and it responds based on what’s on your screen.

Google’s new AI model for forecasting tropical storms 🌪️

Google has unveiled a powerful new AI model for forecasting tropical cyclones, developed by DeepMind and Google Research. The model is accessible via a new platform called Weather Lab, which allows users to explore live and historical cyclone predictions 📈

The AI model can generate 50 possible storm scenarios up to 15 days in advance, covering track, intensity, size, and shape.
It’s being tested in collaboration with the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) to evaluate real-world effectiveness.
In internal tests, the model’s five-day track predictions were on average 87 miles more accurate than those from Europe’s ECMWF model.
The system is trained on ERA5 data, a massive archive of global weather observations.
Google emphasizes this tool is experimental and meant to complement, not replace, traditional physics-based forecasting.
