OpenAI’s new computer agent is HERE! 🤖 

OpenAI has introduced a new AI agent called Operator that can perform tasks on the web for users.

Operator uses a model called Computer-Using Agent (CUA), which combines GPT-4o's vision capabilities with advanced reasoning through reinforcement learning. This allows Operator to interact with web pages by typing, clicking, and scrolling, much like a human would.

It can handle a variety of tasks, such as filling out forms, ordering groceries, and even creating memes ✅

One of the key features of Operator is its ability to self-correct and ask for user assistance when needed. For example, if it encounters a CAPTCHA or requires login credentials, it will prompt the user to take over. 

Operator is designed to refuse harmful requests and block disallowed content 👀 

This agent is currently available as a research preview for subscribers of OpenAI's $200 per month ChatGPT Pro tier in the US, but OpenAI plans to expand Operator's availability to Plus, Team, and Enterprise users in the future and integrate these capabilities into ChatGPT.

Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event was held on Wednesday and it was packed with exciting announcements. Here are the key highlights 👇️ 

1. Galaxy S25 Series: Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, featuring the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip designed to handle intense AI processes. The S25 series also includes upgraded camera capabilities with a 50MP ultrawide camera sensor and AI-powered noise detection for video ✅ 
   

2. Galaxy S25 Edge: Samsung teased the Galaxy S25 Edge, a new ultra-slim entry into the Galaxy S25 lineup. The phone is rumored to measure just 6.4mm thick.

3. Project Moohan: Samsung showcased its first Android XR headset, Project Moohan, which looks similar to Apple's Vision Pro headset with a hint of Meta's discontinued Quest Pro.
   

4. Google Gemini Integration (more about it below): Samsung announced the integration of Google Gemini's advanced AI capabilities, allowing users to complete tasks across multiple apps in a single prompt.
   

5. SmartThings AI Features: Samsung's smart home platform, SmartThings, now includes AI features that use ambient sensing technology to simplify everyday life.
   

6. Night Video Mode and Audio Eraser: Samsung announced new features focused on improving media quality, such as Night Video mode for enhanced low-light video capture and Audio Eraser to isolate specific sounds or voices in audio recordings.
   

7. One UI 7: Samsung's custom interface built on Android 15, One UI 7, was officially released, featuring AI agents and other enhancements.

Gemini gets a HUGE boost for Samsung and Pixel devices 📈 

Google has announced a major upgrade for its AI assistant, Gemini. This new feature allows Gemini to perform tasks across multiple apps in a single prompt 📱 

This enhancement builds on Gemini's existing app extensions, which already include a variety of Google apps and some third-party options like WhatsApp and Spotify.

With this update, Gemini can now help users complete tasks across Samsung apps on Galaxy S25 phones, including Samsung Calendar, Notes, Reminder, and Clock. For example, you can ask Gemini for high-protein lunch recipes and then easily save them to a note directly on Samsung Notes or Google Keep ✅ 

Additionally, Gemini Live, the assistant's voice-based conversational mode, has been upgraded to allow users to share images, files, and YouTube videos while seeking feedback or information. This feature is currently available on Galaxy S25 and S24 phones and Google's Pixel 9 series.

Google is also planning to integrate features from Project Astra, such as screen sharing and live video streaming, into Gemini on Android in the coming months.

ChatGPT goes down (again) 🥹 

ChatGPT experienced a significant outage yesterday morning, causing disruptions for millions of users globally. The issue was reported around 7 AM EST, with users encountering error messages like "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable" and "Bad gateway". OpenAI identified the root cause and implemented a fix, and the service is now back online ✅ 

Some speculated that the outage might have been caused by a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack, but OpenAI has not confirmed this 👀 

It's a reminder of how deeply integrated AI tools like ChatGPT have become in our daily lives!
