BREAKING AI NEWS

o3 and o4-mini are HERE

OpenAI has unveiled two new AI reasoning models, o3 and o4-mini, designed to enhance reasoning by pausing and carefully working through questions before responding. 🧠

Key Features of o3 and o4-mini:

  1. Advanced Reasoning:

    • o3 is OpenAI's most powerful reasoning model to date, excelling in areas like math, coding, science, and visual understanding

    • o4-mini offers a balance between price, speed, and performance, making it suitable for cost-efficient reasoning tasks

  2. Tool Integration:

    • Both models can utilize tools within ChatGPT, such as web browsing, Python code execution, image processing, and generation

    • They are the first models capable of reasoning with images, allowing users to upload photos, diagrams, or sketches for analysis

  3. Performance Benchmarks:

    • o3 achieves state-of-the-art scores on coding tests like SWE-bench, with a 69.1% accuracy

    • o4-mini also performs exceptionally well, scoring 68.1% on similar benchmarks

  4. Accessibility:

    • Starting April 16, 2025, these models are available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team users

xAI adds a ‘memory’ feature to Grok 🧠

Elon Musk's AI company, xAI, has introduced a new "memory" feature for its chatbot, Grok, aiming to enhance personalized interactions. This feature allows Grok to remember details from past conversations, enabling it to provide tailored recommendations and advice based on user preferences

Grok can now recall previous chats to offer more customized responses. For example, if you've discussed your workout habits, Grok can suggest routines aligned with your preferences

Users can view what Grok remembers and choose to delete specific memories or turn off the feature entirely via the Data Controls page in settings

The memory feature is currently in beta and accessible on Grok's website and mobile apps for iOS and Android. However, it is not available in the EU or UK due to regional privacy regulations.

Microsoft Copilot can now ‘see’ what’s on your screen in Edge 👀

Microsoft has introduced Copilot Vision, a groundbreaking feature that allows its AI assistant to interpret what's on your screen in the Edge browser. This feature is now available for free to Edge users, enabling a more interactive and hands-free browsing experience

Copilot Vision can analyze and summarize the content on your screen, offering insights and answering questions about web pages, apps, or documents 📃

The feature is optimized for voice commands, allowing users to interact naturally with Copilot. For example, it can guide users through recipes, decode job descriptions, or assist with interview preparation2.

Copilot Vision does not store user inputs, images, or page content. Only Copilot's responses are logged for monitoring.

While free for Edge users, advanced features are limited to Copilot Pro subscribers.

Gemini Live’s screensharing feature is now free for Android users 📱

Google has made the Gemini Live screensharing feature free for all Android users

This tool lets users share their screen or camera feed with the AI assistant, enabling it to analyze visual content and provide relevant answers.

Originally reserved for Gemini Advanced subscribers, the feature is now available via the Gemini app. Android users can activate it through a "Share screen with Live" button or by entering camera mode. Applications include identifying objects, offering product comparisons, and assisting with instructions.

The rollout began on April 17, 2025, and will extend over the coming weeks, improving accessibility for all users
