NVIDIA has unveiled Project DIGITS, a personal AI supercomputer priced at $3,000. Announced at CES 2025, this device is designed to make advanced AI computing accessible to researchers, data scientists, and students 🧑‍🎓 

Powered by the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, Project DIGITS delivers up to a petaflop of AI performance, enabling the development, fine-tuning, and deployment of large-scale AI models directly from a desktop 💻️ 

Here are some key features 👇️ 

• It combines a high-performance NVIDIA Blackwell GPU with fifth-generation Tensor Cores and an NVIDIA Grace CPU featuring 20 power-efficient cores based on ARM architecture.
  

• Developed in collaboration with MediaTek, the superchip offers industry-leading efficiency, performance, and connectivity while operating on standard electrical outlets.

Why OpenAI is still losing money on ChatGPT Pro? 🤔 

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently revealed that the company is currently losing money on its $200-per-month ChatGPT Pro plan.

Despite the high subscription fee, the plan's popularity has led to higher-than-expected usage, resulting in significant operational costs 📈 

Despite the company raising around $20 billion since its founding, OpenAI reported losses of approximately $5 billion on revenue of $3.7 billion last year 💰️ 

The high costs of running AI tools like ChatGPT, which can reach up to $700,000 per day, have contributed to these financial challenges.

OpenAI is also considering restructuring and possibly raising subscription prices to address these issues.

Sam Altman is optimistic about superintelligence, but…

OpenAI is shifting its focus towards developing "superintelligence," a step beyond AGI. In a recent blog post, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman expressed confidence in their ability to build superintelligence.

Altman believes superintelligent tools could significantly enhance scientific discovery and innovation, leading to increased abundance and prosperity.

Altman also suggests that AI agents may soon join the workforce, materially changing company outputs.

But he also stated that current AI technology faces limitations such as errors, hallucinations, and high operational costs 🤔 

Altman remains optimistic about overcoming these challenges and believes that the development of superintelligence will be a transformative milestone for humanity.
