FRESH AI NEWS
GPT-5 just got a thinking upgrade ✅

Microsoft is getting ready to launch Copilot for GPT-5 with a new "Smart Mode." This mode automatically adjusts its thinking by switching between quick answers and deeper reasoning based on the question 🤖
Smart Mode responds differently based on the complexity of your question. It responds quickly when it can and thoughtfully when needed 🚀
It reflects GPT-5’s improved reasoning engine, providing users with a smoother and more intuitive experience 🧑🎓
Currently, this Smart Mode is not available to users since it is still under development ✅
Why You Should Care: This represents the first major interface change made for GPT-5's improved reasoning skills. This could give Copilot a big advantage in user experience over ChatGPT when it launches.
Europe’s largest AI center just got real 🧠

OpenAI has launched Stargate Norway, its first AI data center in Europe, in partnership with the UK-based company Nscale and Norwegian energy company Aker 🏙️
The site will deploy 100,000 NVIDIA GPUs by the end of 2026, making it one of Europe’s largest AI compute hubs, powered entirely by hydro 💻
Located in Kvandal, near Narvik, the first 20MW phase is supported by $1B each from Aker and Nscale, taking advantage of Norway’s reliable and inexpensive hydropower 🌊
The project includes partnerships with local universities to improve regional AI research and develop talent in Norway’s growing AI ecosystem 🎓
Why You Should Care: OpenAI’s move to Norway is more than just a change in location. It’s a strategic choice. By selecting a Nordic base with abundant renewable energy and lighter regulations, OpenAI gains access to clean energy, scalability, and fewer legal obstacles within the EU.
Meta just declared war with $72B 📊

Meta is investing heavily in AI infrastructure, planning to spend up to $72 billion in 2025. This is a significant increase of $30 billion from last year. Zuckerberg is committing fully to the AI race, placing a strong bet on computing power 💰
Meta expects $66 to $72 billion in capital spending next year, including lease payments. This marks a $30 billion increase from last year, as revealed in its Q2 earnings 🧾
Its AI “Supercluster,” set to launch in 2026, will upgrade current data centers and create new ones to support Llama 4 and future AGI goals 🧠
The plan includes a $10 billion data center in Louisiana, described as “the size of a major part of Manhattan,” providing 1 gigawatt of AI computing power 🏙️
Why You Should Care: Meta is changing the focus of the AI competition from creating new models to building infrastructure. With a budget larger than that of most countries, it is pushing competitors like OpenAI and Google into an expensive race where computing power is crucial.
NotebookLM could replace your tutor 🧑💻

Google has expanded NotebookLM with Video Overviews. This feature transforms dense documents and notes into narrated explainer videos, complete with slides, visuals, and AI voiceovers 🎥
Users can now turn documents, presentations, charts, and more into engaging explainer videos that pull images, diagrams, quotes, and stats directly from their source material 🧾
The updated Studio panel now offers Audio Overviews, Video Overviews, Mind Maps, and Reports, all with a single click. This allows for smooth multitasking across formats 🎛️
The feature is rolling out in English first. Support for more languages will come soon as Google expands NotebookLM’s reach worldwide 🌍
Why You Should Care: NotebookLM is quickly becoming Google’s all-in-one AI study companion. It turns static research into engaging content. By blending video, voice, and visuals, Google aims to lead in AI-powered education and could make traditional slideshows obsolete.
ChatGPT conversations leaked online ⚠️

Thousands of public ChatGPT conversations are now appearing in Google search results after users click the “Share” button. Nearly 4,500 indexed chats could reveal sensitive information that users believed was private 🔍
Conversations shared through a link are being indexed by search engines, making user queries and AI responses searchable by the public 🌐
Many users probably think the “Share” feature is private or limited, not realizing they are posting their chats on the open internet ⚠️
To maintain privacy, users need to avoid using the Share feature or understand that shared links act like any other public URL. Fully accessible and indexable 🔓
Why You Should Care: This unexpected exposure shows a significant privacy issue. As people increasingly use AI for personal, professional, and even confidential tasks, they may unintentionally leave a record of private thoughts online. This serves as a wake-up call for platforms like OpenAI to reconsider how sharing works and for users to take more care in the age of AI transparency.
