BREAKING AI NEWS
ChatGPT can now schedule your tasks ✅

OpenAI has rolled out a new feature for ChatGPT called "Tasks," which allows users to schedule reminders and set recurring tasks.
With the Tasks feature, users can set one-time reminders or schedule recurring actions. For example, you can ask ChatGPT to remind you of important deadlines, send you a daily weather update, or even share a funny joke at bedtime.
The feature also allows ChatGPT to suggest tasks based on your conversations, though you will need to confirm them before they are set.
Upon completion of these tasks, notifications will alert users on web, desktop, and mobile. There’s also a limit of 10 active tasks that can run simultaneously.
To access the Tasks feature, users can select the "Tasks" option from the ChatGPT menu and type in their desired task and schedule. The feature is currently in beta testing, and OpenAI plans to roll it out to all users in the future.
This feature is currently available to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Pro users ✅
Today we’re rolling out a beta version of tasks—a new way to ask ChatGPT to do things for you at a future time.
Whether it's one-time reminders or recurring actions, tell ChatGPT what you need and when, and it will automatically take care of it.

Mercedes-Benz’s new virtual AI Assistant, courtesy Google 🤝

Mercedes-Benz has partnered with Google to enhance its MBUX Virtual Assistant with Google's new Automotive AI Agent.
This collaboration aims to provide a more conversational and intuitive in-car experience for users. The AI Agent, built using Google's Gemini on Vertex AI, is designed specifically for the automotive industry and leverages Google Maps data to offer detailed and personalized responses about navigation, points of interest, and more 🗺️
The new MBUX Virtual Assistant will be featured in the upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA series and will eventually be rolled out to other models. It can handle complex, multi-turn dialogues and retain memory of conversations, allowing users to continue discussions and reference information throughout their drives.
The assistant can also provide real-time updates on traffic, recommend restaurants, and even answer follow-up questions about reviews and popular dishes.
OpenAI’s o1 ‘thinks’ in Chinese? 👀
OpenAI's AI reasoning model, known as o1, has exhibited a curious behavior where it sometimes "thinks" in Chinese, Persian, or other languages, even when the input is in English 🤷
This phenomenon has puzzled both users and AI experts. For instance, when given a problem to solve, o1 might perform some reasoning steps in another language before arriving at an English response.
Several theories have been proposed to explain this behavior. Some experts suggest that the model's training data, which includes a significant amount of Chinese characters and uses third-party Chinese data labeling services, might influence this linguistic switch.
Others believe that the model's probabilistic nature and search for efficient problem-solving methods might lead it to use languages it finds most efficient for specific tasks ✅
Despite these theories, the exact cause of this behavior remains unclear, highlighting the need for more transparency in AI development 🧑💻
OpenAI building out new robotics division 🤖
OpenAI is making significant strides in the field of robotics by establishing a new in-house robotics division. This initiative is led by Caitlin Kalinowski, who joined OpenAI from Meta's AR glasses division.
The company is actively hiring for various technical roles, including sensor suite development, mechanical design, and lab operations management 👀
The goal of this new division is to develop general-purpose robots that can operate in dynamic real-world settings. These robots will be equipped with advanced AI capabilities and custom sensor suites.
This move marks a significant step for OpenAI, which had previously disbanded its robotics team in 2020. The company has since collaborated with robotics firms like Figure, integrating its AI models into humanoid robots 🤖
The new robotics division aims to achieve full-scale production of these robots, potentially revolutionizing the robotics industry!
