Arizona adopts AI robots to replace teachers 🤖 

Arizona has taken a bold step by introducing AI teachers in classrooms 🤖 🧑‍🏫 

Unbound Academy, a pioneering charter school, has implemented a unique model where AI delivers core academic instruction to students in grades 4-8. This AI-driven approach focuses on personalized learning, adapting in real-time to each student's performance and customizing the difficulty and presentation style ✅ 

Students spend two hours daily on AI-guided lessons using platforms like IXL and Khan Academy. The rest of the day is dedicated to life skills workshops led by human mentors, covering topics such as financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

A program pilot has claimed that students learned twice as much in half the time, allowing them to focus more on important life skills.

China’s open-source AI model stuns the AI world 🌐 

Chinese AI startup DeepSeek just released DeepSeek-V3, a new AI language model that sets new benchmarks in the AI world with a fraction of the cost.

It boasts a massive 671 billion parameters and utilizes a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture. Despite its size, it maintains impressive speed and cost-effectiveness, having been trained in just two months at an estimated cost of $5.57 million 😳 

DeepSeek-V3 excels in various tasks, particularly in math and Chinese language tasks, and it matches or even exceeds the performance of many closed-source models.

However in many conversations, V3 has been critiqued for identifying as ChatGPT, which may be due to significant GPT-generated content used in its training dataset 👀 

This model's release tells us that there’s a narrowing gap between open-source and closed-source AI models, demonstrating that high-performance AI can be achieved without the massive resources typically required by industry giants ✅ 

OpenAI to enter the robotics space? 🤖 

OpenAI has reportedly explored the idea of developing a humanoid robot. According to sources, the company has had discussions about entering the robotics space, particularly focusing on human-like robots.

This isn't entirely new territory for OpenAI, as they had a dedicated robotics division until 2021, which was later shut down to focus more on AI software.

OpenAI has also invested in several robotic startups, such as Figure AI and 1X Technologies, which are working on building humanoid robots. However, it seems that developing a humanoid robot is not currently a high-priority project for OpenAI.

OpenAI to turn into a for-profit company 👀

OpenAI has announced plans to transition into a for-profit company. The company will become a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), which is a for-profit entity designed to operate for the good of society.

This new structure will allow OpenAI to raise the necessary capital to continue developing AGI while maintaining a focus on societal benefits 👀 

The nonprofit arm of OpenAI will retain a stake in the business but will no longer have oversight control. Instead, it will operate separately with its own leadership team and staff to pursue charitable initiatives in sectors such as healthcare, education, and science ✅ 

This move has faced some opposition, including legal challenges from Elon Musk and Meta, who have expressed concerns about the shift away from OpenAI's original public-interest mission.
